The Department of the Air Force Company Grade Officers’ Council is an organization representing the more than 47,000 junior military officers of the United States Air Force, Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard, and Space Force. Through local councils on nearly 100 bases and military installations across four regions including Europe and the Pacific, CGOs (captains and lieutenants) promote professional development and community service through volunteer projects and networking events.

Professional DevelopmentSaturday, 26 August, the CGOs volunteered at the NASCAR Coke Zero Race out in Daytona. We were working as security and assisted with seating around the pit for 10 hours. We were able to both serve the community, and at the same time raise funds for Junior Enlisted Appreciation Day held at Patrick SFB.

Establishing a relationship with the base O-6 council, the Eielson CGOC hosted a Q&A lunch with the Wing Commander and CGOs, providing a direct line of communication for 45 leaders, enabling them to tap into the expertise and insights of a seasoned commander, and gain a deeper understanding of their experiences and perspectives.
As the summer arrived, the Eielson CGOC started off strong delivering a fun and engaging summer BBQ, complete with a cornhole tournament, to welcome new and departing CGOs, creating a memorable and enjoyable event that helped to break the ice and establish relationships among the CGO community.

To empower councils at Air Force and Space Force units around the world through Advocacy, Recognition and Communication to the regions down to the base-level. The DAFCGOC will coordinate and disseminate training materials and deliver the pulse of the CGO from its constituent councils to senior military leadership.
